So big things happening. Went into work today and setup my desk. I actually have a computer setup. It’s not the greatest, but it’s great to have a place I can call my own. I don’t have to put my stuff on the conference table anymore.
It’s great cause everyone has at least two monitor setups. Some people actually have three. It’s a decent setup. I still like my setup at home, but this is a good home away from home office. I’ll just have to get used to it and make it personal.
Here is a pic of my setup at home. If anyone cares, I have a Razer Naga 2014 edition I think. I have an older 2012 Razer Death Adder in case this one dies. My monitors are 24 inch Asus VG248QE that are running 144Hz. My keyboard is KUL ES-87 Tenkeyless Mechanical Cherry MX Red. I’m sure most of you have no idea what most of that stuff means, but whatever.
So what made today even cooler was one of my bosses got Shake Shack for the office. He said to me that if anything you will get fat working here. Hopefully that doesn’t happen. Once I officially start I’ll be making sure I gym it up.
This job is going to force me into late night workouts which is fine with me. It will just mean I have to utilize my time better which is what I needed to do anyways.
So next week I’ll be figuring out my routine and then sticking to it. I’m so ready for my 4 month vacation to be over. I’m Spongebob ready!
Got my new bags that I bought myself for Christmas for being such an awesome person this year. Also had to get them because Santa can’t keep up with me. I move around too much.
I got a backpack for the gym and a messenger type bag for work. I used them both today for the first time. They are pretty awesome.
The gym bag is OGIO International X-Train 2. I got the black and silver model. It’s pretty awesome. What sold me was it has a compartment for my shoes that is separate from the rest of the bag. I can fit all my gym clothes and sneakers in there and still have room.
The work bag is a Timbuk2 Command Laptop Messenger Bag. I got it in what they call Carbon Full-cycle twill. I just use this for my laptop and papers. It wasn’t too hard carrying both around the city, subway and bus.
I went into work today for another hangout session. I was there for 6 hours. My only fuel was 2 pop tarts from breakfast. I didn’t realize I didn’t eat until after the gym. I just wanted to absorb all the knowledge I could.
Speaking of the gym, I did back and biceps. The gym is in the middle of a renovation so I didn’t wear my heart monitor so not sure how many calories I burned.
I was there at least an hour. They should be done with renovations according to my friend that works there by middle of January. I’m sure it will look amazing.
After the gym I got some food cause I was pretty hungry. I walked around the corner and got myself a fat Chipotle burrito. Needed the calories for my gainz.
Don’t have work again until next Tuesday. Going to some friends for Christmas Eve and for Christmas Day. I’ll try to take some pictures of the food I’ll be eating.

The word of the day is beer. Day drinking with friends, dinner drinking with friends and night drinking with friends and strangers.
Had lunch with two friends at the rooftop beer garden at Eataly in NYC. Had some Other Half IPA which was pretty good. We snacked on some fried mushrooms that weren’t so great. Pretty salty.
For lunch we had a sliced meat sampler and we all got the steak. The meat sampler was pretty good. The steak wasn’t that bad too.
After two beers at lunch I sobered up and hit the road. I headed back East to meet some friends for dinner. We got some Indian food and I had another beer. I got my usual chicken tikka kabobs and we all split coconut rice and garlic naan bread.
And now I’m at another friends house and we are going to go to an ugly sweater party. There will be boose.
Went into work today for a few hours to meet my future coworkers and to see day to day operations.
It wasn’t super busy, but I got some good experience and it was really fun. I think I have a lot to learn to do well there, but I have the potential and I’m ready for the challenge.
It wss rainy most of the day. It was raining after work. I didn’t feel like walking in the rain to the gym I normally go so I went to the one closer to work. It was really nice looking, but it was so dark inside. It felt like I was in a club. Lots of neon lights, it messed with my head. So I’m just going to stick with my regular gym and just walk the extra blocks as extra cardio.
Today I did chest, triceps and shoulders.
Another day, another adventure. Woke up kinda late. Didn’t go to the gym because I went to midtown to hang out with my friend. It was suppose to be leg day, but instead I just walked around the city for probably a mile or so.
We went to Rockefeller Center to check on my tree. The tree looks better at night. There was also this crazy hip hop guy skate dancing.
Went to Bryant Park to check on that tree too. Got to experience my first Chipotle burrito. It was okay. Nothing crazy, but I’d go again. The place had a keypad on the bathroom, but I had no idea about the combo until we were about to leave and saw it on my receipt. Sneaky sneaky!
For dessert we got some crepes from a vendor in Bryant Park. Then we walked around in the rain checking out the windows. It was really fun since it wasn’t too cold out.
Didn’t really do too much today. Didn’t go to the gym. Woke up and cleaned my place instead. I lost track of time while cleaning. I was super hungry cause I didn’t eat.
I went and got groceries and tried out this new place called Noodles and Company. It’s a chain, but wanted to try it out.
I got Pad Thai with Parmesan Crusted Chicken and a side of potstickers. They cooked it pretty fast and it was tasty.
Transported pretty well too. Tomorrow I’ll be going to the gym and I think I’ll be hanging out doing something cool or at the very least getting some good food.
Woke up so earlier than usual this morning. I was awake at 7am and rolled out of bed at 8am. Today was orientation at my new job. It was like Christmas eve last night. Couldn’t get any sleep. I was also really full from lunch with my grandparents.
So I got outta bed and got ready. I was at work 45 minutes early and that’s with me getting off the train 2 stops before hand and walking. I got off before cause the train was skipping a bunch of stops.
Orientation was pretty good. Just gave me the low down on what tools they use and how things work. I’m going back on Thursday to hang out and see day to day operations.
After that I walked up to 38th and worked out. Today was a scheduled off day, but since I haven’t been going to the gym at all I went to give myself a boost. I did back and biceps with 20 mins of cardio on elliptical.
After the workout I went and got some Popeyes because I’ve been craving it for some odd reason.
It wasn’t as good as I wished it was. But craving squashed.
That was basically my day. Sent out a bunch of holiday cards over the weekend and I got my first few today. They were the first two official pieces of mail that I’ve gotten at my new place since moving. I’m not counting amazon packages.
Hung out in NYC most of the day with a good friend and her mom. Went to Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, Time Square and ate at Del Frisco’s.
Didn’t go work out today cause I was so tired from yesterday and from the steak I had. I’ll be getting myself back on track for sure next week after I find out my schedule.
Got some new socks last night. I signed up for some monthly fresh socks again. Figure I might as well since I got myself a new job.
So there are some sweet regular socks in there and some promotional no show socks.
I also went on an adventure into Queens to have some lunch at a Filipino place (Krystal’s Cafe) with my aunt. It was pretty good. Will definitely have to hit it up again. It is a nice place to get Flip food.
Then after eating all the food I went back to the city and worked out. I haven’t been to the gym in over 4 months so course it was chest day. I couldn’t lift as much, but it is a good base line.
The gym was pretty busy, but I didn’t have to wait super long for anything. Overall I’m pleased with the place.
Then my final adventure for the day was to hit up Spanish Harlem and say hello to the grandparents.
Today was a good day. This city life is exciting. Hopefully it won’t be too busy when I finally start my job.
Oh hai. It’s been a while. Just got settled in my new place finally. Starting a new job and got a new gym membership. Lots of new stuff going on.

I’m officially part of Team Crunch now in NYC. Hopefully I’ll be all in shape for these weddings I got coming up in the Spring.
Going to work out tomorrow afternoon and get my sweat on.
